A  CREATIVE TRIPPING IN LIGHT

I was born and I am based in Athens. I work as a freelance lighting designer active in both artistic/cultural events and architectural lighting. I am a co-founder of the Civil non-profit Company Blue Rosebud Productions with Rania Papadopoulou.

Throughout my career, that has began in 2017, I’ve had the great fortune to work on some truly inspiring projects, while meeting many influential and creative individuals along the way.

Initially, in 2018 at the lighting trade company Site Specific I perceived light through "touching" lighting fixtures, testing different types of them in order to adapt to different kind of lighting concepts, by collaborating with interior designers, architects and lighting designers. Then, in 2020, I worked closely with Eleftheria Deko at the project of the new lighting of the Acropolis, as a member of her office team.

 Regarding my passion for theatre, it begun in 2017 as a performer and lighting designer at the theatrical workshop of Elephas Tiliensis theatre Group. But the most crucial moment for me was my collaboration with the inspiring theatre director Nikos Chatzipapas at the performance in public space: Kaspar Machine (Creative Europe Culture). 

 

Theatrical lighting is “intruding” in architectural lighting design and vice versa. That is why I do not separate the two “expressions” of lighting design…
